Andrew Cox is a Filipino/Australian, who lives and works on Ngunnawal & Ngambri country and leads the Canberra Poetry Slam, one of Australia’s largest regular performance poetry programs. Andrew’s work has been shortlisted for writing prizes, notably for Innovation in Spoken Word, and featured internationally for the 2023 Singapore Writers Festival. With an emphasis on performance Andrew has been on stages in every state and territory of Australia while his writing also has been published in multiple anthologies, most recently Admissions (Upswell publishing) and commissioned by the likes of Red Room Poetry. Andrews work has a focus in the disciplines of slam and spoken word, and has found national recognition, named as an emerging voice in Australian poetry.
