Blair Wise

Blair is a proud Dunghutti journalist based in Newcastle. He is an AAP FactCheck journalist who debunks online misinformation trends. In 2024, he received the Walkley Opportunity Scholarship and worked as a local reporter for the Newcastle Herald. He was recently recognised as the Kennedy Foundation Student Journalist of the Year.

His Ossie award-winning debut documentary ‘The Perfect Storm’ saw him travel across Australian university campuses, speaking with activists and uncovering the tertiary education links to the military industry. He plans on making many more documentaries in the future.

Blair has published with VICE, covering university issues, youth drug use, and First Nations events. He previously worked as an editor and reporter for the University of Newcastle’s student media.
