Liberty Lawson

Liberty is writer and interdisciplinary researcher with a background in philosophy and marine science. She is the creative director and editor of Holographia and she is the publication editor at The Sydney Environment Institute. Liberty’s critically-acclaimed writing has appeared in Antennae, Vice, i-D, Dark Mountain, Odiseo and more. As an academic, Liberty is an international ACU Blue Charter Research Fellow, a Global Oceans Ambassador for the NGO Positive Change for Marine Life, and she regularly runs international workshops and lectures on science communication in the Anthropocene. Liberty is currently completing a PhD at the University of Sydney looking at environmental justice, art-nature symbioses and post-humanist feminism.
