Vanessa Crofskey is an artist based in Auckland, New Zealand. Her art practice interrogates text through performance, poetry and installation. She has exhibited widely across disciplines, in galleries, journals, museums and festivals. She was Auckland’s Regional Slam Champion for 2017 and is a current Window Gallery curator for the University of Auckland. Vanessa has written for publications such as Turbine | Kapohau, The Pantograph Punch, Starling, Hamster Mag, Hainamana, East Lit, SCUM Mag and Dear Journal. Her most recent show, Long Distance Phone Calls, won the Auckland Arts Festival Fringe Award, the Pussy Riot 2019 Award and Best Spoken Word at Auckland Fringe 2019.
