Late Night Reading: Monsters

Late Night Reading: Monsters, Myths and Queers

Sat 03 Oct , 10.00pm – 11.00pm

Let’s not beat around the bush, Dracula’s a bit gay. So is Frankenstein’s monster. So is Carmilla, and Mr Hyde, and Dorian Grey. And apparently the Babadook. And don’t even get us started on The Blob! This is a reading of works about monsters and queerness. Maybe the monster is transphobia lurking around every corner, maybe it’s a literal monster stalking a lesbian sorority, maybe it’s the fact that ANZ insists on making their ATMs rainbow coloured for pride. Steel your resolve. It’s going to get spooky.

Support NYWF
The National Young Writers’ Festival is a non-profit organisation made by and for young artists to help foster a sense of community and allow young writers to connect, share skills and hone their craft. We pride ourselves on paying all writers programmed for the festival but we are reliant on government funding and philanthropic support to make our festival happen. Your donation allows us to continue supporting young artists, increase the number of writers we are able to program, and improve our capacity and resources to hold high quality events.

NYWF is a registered non-profit, so your donation (above $2) is also tax-deductible.
